My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Sarafine is gone. Macon is dead. Lena isn’t light or dark, but she is not herself either, and Ethan is feeling more helpless than ever. Then, as always things take a turn for the worst but I won’t tell you exactly how because that’s called a spoiler, and would ruin the whole book.
I can tell you what I think about this book.
Beautiful Darkness was not terrible. It was not great either though. I felt that it was predictable. It took longer than necessary to progress. I kept asking myself when it would end.
While a lot of my questions from the first book were answered, like what is Ethan I have now been plagued with even more. Who is this Playboy John Breed guy? Better yet, what was he?
Besides the things that made me not like this book there were some perks. Garcia added a new potential love interest, which was GREAT. I felt like I could feel the vibes of Ethan and her as if I was sitting right there in the Dairy Keen too. Man did the Macon and Mrs. Ethan’s mom relationship really shed some light and add some drama. It just was not enough to keep me hooked. That’s probably why it took me a month to finish the book.
It was not all bad, but it wasn’t all good either, so I give it 3 stars
